About Me
About Me
My name is Gracian Anton, and I am a Computer Science (Honours) student at Carleton University, studying in the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning stream. I grew up in Gatineau, Quebec, and Ottawa, Ontario. I completed my elementary, middle, and high school education through Abeka Academy, an accredited Christian-based program. This format gave me a strong academic foundation while also allowing me the flexibility to explore my interests more deeply outside of traditional classroom settings.
Alongside my academic journey, I have developed a broad range of practical skills through hands-on experiences. I created educational content in calculus and algebra, which strengthened my communication skills and my ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively. In addition, I volunteered in community outreach programs supporting individuals with mental challenges through service activities such as meal and gift distribution, which reinforced teamwork, empathy, and a commitment to serving others. During my high school summers, I worked in construction and home renovation, an experience that built a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and an appreciation for disciplined, hands-on work.
My Christian faith plays an important role in my life and continues to shape my values, decisions, and outlook. I believe the Bible is the final authority in matters of faith and life, and one verse that has been especially meaningful to me is John 15:16, which speaks to purpose, responsibility, and bearing lasting fruit. This foundation influences how I approach learning, work, and personal growth, encouraging me to act with integrity, discipline, and a clear sense of direction.
I began learning programming in highschool, initially out of curiosity, but it quickly became a long-term focus. Since then, I have built a range of projects involving full-stack web development, database-driven systems, and AI-powered applications. Through this work, I gained hands-on experience designing software architectures, working with backend logic and data models, and integrating AI tools to add intelligent functionality. These projects strengthened my interest in writing clean, maintainable code and building systems that solve real problems. I enjoy learning by building and continue to explore how software engineering and artificial intelligence can be combined to create practical, user-focused applications.
